Blockchain for the wine sector

It all began with an innovation from Avery Dennison that gave birth to an industry. In 1935, a troubled employee named Stan Avery devised a more intelligent product pricing system for stores. By combining used machine components and a jigsaw, and financing the project with a one hundred dollar loan, he created and patented the first die-cut self-adhesive label machine. Thanks to Stan Avery’s invention, the self-adhesive label sector was born.

emulsion adhesives

The 1980s: The first with emulsion adhesives. In response to the awareness that departing from solvent-based adhesives would have allowed manufacturers to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds, and to meet European regulations, we stubbornly pursued the development of polymer-based adhesives in water dispersion. The biggest obstacle: dissolving the foam present during the phase in which these less viscous emulsion adhesives were applied to the paper. We quickly learned that emulsion adhesives also had other advantages in addition to their low environmental impact. They allowed our customers to increase the transformation speed and were compatible with a wide range of front materials.

Our commitment to the development of emulsion adhesives has paid off, we were in fact the first to offer them on a large scale.
